Overseeing our growing team of project cost estimators are senior estimators Nick Morgan-Jones and Jim Thomson. With decades of experience on major schemes, both are committed to their continuous professional development and regularly teach at the Blueprint Academy.

Estimating technical lead Nick Morgan-Jones has two decades of experience as a highly qualified project controls manager, estimator, and risk manager. He heads up the Blueprint estimating arm, bringing a whole range of experience from site engineering on a massive programme of newly built military barracks across Algeria, to section manager at Center Parcs, and site manager on water treatment works and steel bridge projects across the UK. He is committed to the ever-evolving practice of cost estimation, sitting on the panel responsible for implementing a new ‘British Standard for Estimation’.

Jim Thomson is our principal estimator and brings a wide range of experience in sectors including process and energy, nuclear, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, and hydrogen and carbon capture. Starting as an engineer, before taking on project engineer and project manager roles, he has worked across a wide range of industries worldwide, with placements in the UK, Ireland, USA, Sweden, Finland, and Hungary. He is also actively working towards becoming an AACE-certified cost estimating professional, reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards in the industry.
