💼 ABOUT US

Blueprint Project Solutions Ltd is a specialist consultancy offering Project Controls, Project Management and Commercial services to a wide range of organisations across the UK and internationally. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional standards while fostering a fun, inclusive and positive working environment for our team.

🚀 THE ROLE

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and proactive Project Risk Manager to join our expanding team. This is a practitioner-level opportunity at Consultant grade, suited to someone with practical risk management experience who is keen to take on greater responsibility and continue developing their career while supporting high-profile clients across the Energy, Defence and Infrastructure sectors.

Your initial commission will involve supporting a major flood defence infrastructure project in Somerset, working alongside an established Blueprint Project Controls team.

You'll play an important role in helping the project delivery team actively manage risks and drive mitigation actions throughout construction. We're looking for someone who enjoys getting involved in the day-to-day challenges of project delivery, asking questions, challenging constructively and working collaboratively with others to identify risks and develop practical solutions.

The initial commission will require two days per week on site in Bridgwater, with the remainder of your time spent working remotely or from the Blueprint office. As part of the wider Blueprint team, you'll also have opportunities to work across a range of other commissions and sectors as you develop your career with us.

🔧 WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In your role, you'll have opportunities to support a range of projects and clients, with your initial responsibilities including:

  • Managing project risks and opportunities, ensuring they are effectively identified, assessed and controlled.

  • Working closely with project delivery teams and risk owners to drive mitigation actions and reduce risk exposure.

  • Facilitating risk reviews and workshops, encouraging open discussion and constructive challenge.

  • Maintaining risk registers and ensuring mitigation actions, ownership and progress are accurately recorded.

  • Identifying emerging risks and working collaboratively with project teams to develop practical response plans.

  • Preparing risk reports and supporting project governance and contingency management.

  • Working alongside planning, cost and commercial teams to integrate risk management with wider Project Controls activities.

  • Supporting quantitative risk analysis (QRA) activities and helping teams understand the implications for project delivery.

🎯 WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Practical experience in project risk management, including risk registers, risk assessment and mitigation planning.

  • A confident, proactive and hands-on approach, comfortable working directly with project delivery teams.

  • The ability to ask the right questions, challenge constructively and encourage others to take ownership of risk mitigation.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • Experience facilitating risk reviews or workshops and engaging with stakeholders to manage project risks.

  • A practical, problem-solving mindset and a willingness to get involved in the day-to-day challenges of project delivery.

  • The ability to take ownership of your work and manage priorities effectively.

  • Willingness to travel to client sites, including Bridgwater for the initial commission.

It would also be beneficial if you have:

  • Experience working on construction, infrastructure or major engineering projects.

  • Knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly Early Warning processes.

  • An understanding of quantitative risk analysis (QRA) and contingency management.
