Principal Consultant Role Profile

SUMMARY

The Principal Consultant will lead the delivery of complex and exciting project solutions for our clients, setting an example and high standards for the rest of the team. The post holder will be a subject matter expert in Project Controls, Project Management or Commercial Management which they will use to develop and implement innovative solutions, tailored to our client's needs. The post holder will liaise with senior management teams across a variety of organisations and will develop solid working relationships with our clients either in an account management capacity or as a consultancy lead.

  • Within the business, the post holder will be an expert in their field in one of the following discipline areas and will have a strong technical capability and experience in at least two other areas of:

    • Project Controls Management

    • Project Planning

    • Estimating

    • Cost Control

    • Risk Management

    • Change Management

    • Reporting and Data Analytics

    • Project, Programme & Portfolio Management (P3M)

    • Commercial Management

    The post holder will be expected to lead work either on Blueprint delivered consultancy services or operate in a leadership role as part of a client team when necessary.

    Projects are varied and often challenging and the post holder is required to be able to demonstrate the company values through effective leadership and interpersonal skills to ensure that they, and the team, uphold Blueprint values at all times to ensure the best possible service is provided.

    In addition to client delivery, the postholder will be required to take the lead when required on Blueprint Business activities such as Account Management, Bid Development, Sales Management and internal project delivery.

    Client work will often be based at the client’s site and will give the consultant exposure to many different working environments into which the post holder will need to adapt and quickly take on the culture of that organisation.

  • To work with Blueprint in this role it is a requirement that the post holder can demonstrate the following;

    • Extensive experience in a Project delivery role

    • Excellent leadership skills

    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

    • Full understanding of Project lifecycles from Inception through to Close Out

    • Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the areas of Project Controls, Project

    • Management or Commercial Management.

    • High level of knowledge and application of project management software and tools

    • High level of awareness of commercial arrangements on Projects or in Business

    • Strong Customer Focus with an understanding of the importance of the role and its

    • Importance in delivery of excellent customer service

    • Resilience and Objectivity

    • Adaptable with a willingness to respond positively to new ways of working

    • Minimum of HNC/HND in a relevant discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience

    • Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams

    • APMP Qualification, MRICS or equivalent

    • Account Management experience (DESIRABLE)

    • Workshop facilitatioN experience
